A green fellow perches atop a yellow sunflower. I believe he may be a Bee Hunter Assassin Bug nymph—offspring of the adults that hunt among my garden posies. I watch him for a while, wondering what the small guy would do if another insect lands beside him.
It doesn’t take long for a honey bee to alight and begin feeding on nectar. Before I can blink an eye, the green youngster ducks behind a flower petal, out of sight.
Ha! I guess he’s not ready to tackle a full-grown bee, yet!
